The meeting was chaired by Jiang Yiren, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the Municipal Federation of Economic Associations.
Over the past 20 years, the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) has grown significantly, with over 300 member units, including 167 economic and professional associations and over 150 enterprise members, covering Shanghai's manufacturing industry as well as financial, logistics, commercial medical, automobile sales, information services, trade, and exhibition industries. During its development, the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) has been awarded titles such as "National Advanced Industrial Economic Association, Federation," "National Advanced Industrial Economic Association," "National Advanced Social Organization," and "Shanghai's 'Two New Organizations' Five-Good Party Organization."
Yin Yicai, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee, stated in her speech that the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) should make significant contributions to innovation-driven transformation and development. She noted that there are currently over 230 industry associations in the city, with the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) encompassing 167 of them, in addition to 150 member enterprises. The Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) has significant potential in attracting multinational company headquarters and high-end manufacturing industries to Shanghai, strengthening domestic regional cooperation, and enhancing the international competitiveness of Shanghai enterprises. Especially under the current economic situation with significant variables and complex factors hindering global economic recovery, which may affect some industries and enterprises, the role of the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) in guiding economic development, assisting enterprises in addressing potential difficulties, and promptly reflecting the needs of industries and enterprises to relevant departments is even more crucial.
Simultaneously, the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) should further enhance its pivotal role in serving enterprises. She stated that the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) should enhance its industrial service functions, reflect the needs of enterprises, propose measures and suggestions, assist enterprises in overcoming development challenges, and organize industry associations to formulate industry development planning suggestions. In serving the adjustment of the industry structure dominated by the service economy, it should act as an advisor to the government and enterprises, playing a guiding, predictive, and early warning role. It should strengthen technical services, leverage the role of the Production-Academia-Research Promotion Working Committee jointly established with Shanghai universities and the Science and Technology Promotion Association, and organize industry associations to provide enterprises with technical exchanges, technical development, application of achievements, project releases, and project matching. It should provide enterprises with diverse market services, holding exhibitions and showcases for industry associations and enterprises domestically and internationally, and providing services for upstream and downstream industry chain and product market matching. In addition, the Municipal Federation of Industrial Economics (Municipal Federation of Economic Associations) should further strengthen its own construction and achieve new development in strengthening self-discipline.
In her speech, Yin Yicai also emphasized that government departments should further support the work of federations and industry associations. She stated that effective measures should be taken to create a better external environment for the healthy development of federations and industry associations. Party organizations at all levels and business supervisory units should place importance on strengthening Party leadership over federations and industry associations, incorporating it into overall planning, formulating work plans, and placing it on the agenda. The system of Party building work and organizational relations for industry associations should be further streamlined, actively exploring Party building activities suitable for the characteristics of industry associations, expanding Party organizational coverage and work coverage, and continuously enhancing the Party's cohesion and influence over industry associations.
